I don't know if I can use this comic here, so I want to give full credit to: http://www.yehudamoon.com/index.php?date=2008-01-22 for publishing them. This is what I fear is happening these days.... (click on it to see it larger)
I don't have much to report from the past couple of days, but I figured I should post just so that my faithful readers don't worry about me! ;-) In fact, things have been pretty mundane lately.
I have commuted to work twice this week. It's my first week with more than one bike commute. I figured that since I felt strong on my commute on Wednesday (and not wiped out like usual) that this would be a good week to increase my number of bike commutes. I actually split my second commute of the week. I drove into work on Thursday with my bike. Then I rode home that evening (after a stop at the hairdresser). Then I biked back in this morning and I'll drive home tonight. Admittedly, I am tired. I'm not sure if that's from riding or from not sleeping well last night. It's likely a combination.
Oh, I do have something unusual to report. On Wednesday night, my H and I were both awoken by an odd sound outside. It sounded like a group of somewhat sickly dogs - howling. It was very, very odd. When I heard it, I sat up in bed and immediately noticed that the flood light to the backyard was lit. This floodlight is on a motion detector and the only way to trigger it is if you are actually in the back yard. That freaked me out since neither of the dogs were outside. H threw on his glasses and grabbed the shotgun. He went out back to check. Meanwhile, I pressed my face to the window screen to try and detect what direction the howling sound was coming from. It sounded like it was across the street. Our neighbor over there does have a couple of dogs, so it's possible it was them and that they just suck at howling. I'm not sure. I kept picturing ragged looking coyotes eyeing Buddy while licking their lips. Anyway, H found nothing and shortly thereafter, the howling stopped. We both fell back asleep and in the morning made sure all was well (which it was). After that incident, I turned on the other motion triggered flood light on the other side of the backyard. So far, we've seen no evidence of wild animals, but you can't be to certain. They are certainly out there!
I don't have much else to report. I got my hair cut again yesterday - and it's really short. I love how it's so easy to take care of this way! Tomorrow we are heading up to a park in Washington. H is exchanging bikes with a guy from the Seattle area and then we are going to go for a mountain bike ride. I haven't ridden off road in a couple of years, so that should be fun! I also plan to stop and check out bikes at one of our local bike shops. I've been shopping around for a new commuter bike and one local place carries a brand I like. We'll see if anything comes of that. Oh, and we also just found out that the gun H's father left to him (when he passed away) has finally arrived. Did you know how difficult it is to ship guns? Holy cow! Anyway, we will be picking it up at the local gun shop tomorrow morning. Hopefully this weekend, we'll get a chance to try shooting. I've never fired anything more than a BBgun (or a pellet gun), so we are going to go to a local skeet range so that I can learn. I'm nervous and excited at the same time. If there are going to be guns in our house, I need to know how to use them!

Well, that makes me feel happy and secure! Glad that H knows how to shoot a gun or two! What happened with the Prius? Why do you want to get Sassy pg? Starting a herd? Put pictures on your blog of you, H, and your animals together.
